A man died in a gas explosion in a house followed by a fire in a village in western Slovakia. According to a report by TV news channel TA3 on Sunday, two injured neighbors were taken to hospital.
According to the fire department, at least six adjacent apartments were damaged by the explosion and fire and had to be evacuated. The accident happened on Saturday evening in the village of Biely Kostol, a suburb of the regional capital Trnava (in German Tyrnau).
Photos published by the police that night show that the explosion apparently shattered the entire top floor of the apartment building. The news portal Pravda.sk published an amateur video taken through the shattered glass door of a neighboring house.
Explosion caused intentionally?
You can see that parts of the building were also scattered in the neighboring garden. According to unconfirmed media reports, the man killed intentionally caused the explosion to kill himself.
