Tehran, the capital of Iran, hosts one of the most important handmade carpet exhibitions in the world, presenting the country’s finest antique and contemporary hand-woven carpets, according to the Iran National Carpet Center (INCC).
The exhibition, which opened on Wednesday (23/8) at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground, will run until August 29, according to a statement released on the INCC website.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by INCC President Mohammad-Mehdi Baradaran, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran.
More than 450 Iranian companies involved in the production and export of hand-woven carpets participated in the exhibition and exhibited a diverse collection of precious hand-woven rugs made by weavers and artists in the country, according to the Iranian news agency IRIB.
