Iran welcomes the Armenia-Azerbaijan joint statement on bilateral cooperation in various issues including release of POWs. Nasser Kanaani, official representative of the Iranian foreign ministry, stated this on Monday at his weekly press briefing in Tehran, IRNA reported.
Iran sees the joint statement as a positive step towards achieving mutual agreement between the two countries, Kanaani stressed.
Last week, the office of the prime minister of Armenia and the administration of the president of Azerbaijan made a joint statement, in which they informed that Azerbaijan will release 32 Armenian captives, and Armenia—two Azerbaijani servicemen.
