A delegation led by the speaker of the Republic of Armenia National Assembly (RA NA), Alen Simonyan, was received by the Leader of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (UK), Penny Mordaunt, the NA informed.
The NA President noted that this visit is a good occasion to develop issues on cooperation of our countries, adding that Armenia is concerned about laying down the multilateral relations with the UK on stable bases and develop them.
Reference was made to the brief meeting between the prime ministers of the two countries in Moldovan capital Chisinau recently, and the visit to Armenia by the UK Minister for Europe at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Leo Docherty.
The RA NA speaker highly appreciated the programs being implemented by the UK aimed at strengthening the capacity of the parliament.
The members of the RA NA delegation exchanged views with their UK colleagues on the security of the Armenia’s region, and gave details about the situation caused because of the Azerbaijani military aggression.
