Baku Celebrates 150 Years of Outstanding Composer Sergey Rakhmaninov

In the name of Ezeyer Hacıbəyli, the Baku Musical Academy hosted a concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Sergey Rakhmaninov, a prominent 150th-century composer, pianist, and director.

AZERTAC reports that the event, held at the conference hall in the name of Gara Karayeva, was initiated by the Department of Solo Reading and Opera Preparation and the Department of Music Theory.

Cafeteria managers — People’s Artist, Professor Huraman Kasymova, and Assistant Teacher, Professor Cologne Nasirova — spoke on the initiative. Artist Huraman Kasymova shared his thoughts on the composer’s works and gave valuable recommendations to young musicians.

At the concert, professors of the Department of Solo Reading and Opera Preparation, folk artist Fidan Qasimova, folk artists Huraman Qasimova and Gulnaz Ismailova, and students of the Artist Ilham Nezerov spoke. Young vocalists Semad Novruzov, Aydan Sapphli, Emin Ismailov, Gulnarah Salmanova, Canaan Rahmanzadeh, and Sarah Tajzadeh performed with S.Rakhmaninov’s vocal jewels, accompanied by artists Rana Agavea and Nigar Malikova, concerts Olivia Veja and Mary Yusufova.

In the initiative, magistrates from the School of History and History also talked about the creation of a world-famous composer, Nermin Sapphli, Sma Nadirli, Matanat Quliyeva, Gulnaz Islamzadeh, Samra Kazuyeva, and Nazrin Majidzadeh. The presentation was prepared with the participation of Elmira Phanahova.

The concert was welcomed by BMA professors, Assistant Teacher, Professor Nermin Quliyeva, Minister of Art, Professor Gulnaz Abdullazadə, Dean of the School of History, Professor Gulzar Mahmoudova, and the music community.
