Papuashvili: Georgia is in Favor of Signing a Peace Treaty Between Azerbaijan and Armenia as Soon as Possible


Georgia is in favor of signing a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia as soon as possible. Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili said on December 11 in Baku at a meeting with Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, APA reports.

According to the source, during the conversation, along with bilateral cooperation between the parliaments, the successful trilateral format of cooperation of the Committees on Foreign Relations of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia was noted. Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that today there are no obstacles for signing a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia: “Azerbaijan is ready for peace and we believe that a peace treaty will be signed soon”.

The Chairman of the Georgian Parliament called the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan in February 2024 historic and noted that these elections are of great importance for Georgia as well.
