Vladimir Putin Explained the Surge in Measles Incidence in Russia

On Thursday, December 14, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during a combined press conference and direct line, he answered a question about the incidence of various infections, including measles, according to Russia Posts English. As it became known, vaccines against this disease have run out in the Samara region, including because many Western pharmaceutical companies have left Russia.

The President explained that an increase in the incidence of measles occurs throughout the world once every four years and added that the issue with the supply of vaccines against infection is primarily related to chicken eggs – the raw material for future drugs. The head of state noted that this issue will be resolved in the near future.

As for the departure of Western pharmaceutical companies from Russia, according to the president, the government is actively working to resolve this issue. In particular, a parallel import commission has been created and our own production is being developed.
